    The Department of Theatre at Albion College is an active and exciting program, which encourages participation from all members of the Albion College student body.  We do four mainstage productions per year with additional student directed shows.  Our curriculum offers a Theatre major and minor and the opportunity to focus on a degree in Acting/Directing, Design and Tech or general Theatre.  We believe in hands on learning and provide many opportunities for students to develop their skills and interests.  Our faculty maintains a strong professional agenda, which allows our students access to the professional theatre in Michigan.

    Our recent graduates have been successful in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.  We have sent students to top graduate programs such as Carnegie Mellon, Wisconsin and Michigan State among others. Additionally, we maintain a close working relationship with several professional theaters in Michigan, allowing a number of our graduates to do year -long apprenticeships to serve as an entry to their theatrical careers.

    Our Department Day will feature workshops on:
    • Designing on a budget
    • Poster Presentations
    • and Prep for State Festivals;
    • Talking Shakespeare and
    • Getting the most from your Lighting Board.
    Additional sessions for those who wish to stay for the day will include a panel of college students talking about being a Theatre Major, Sitting in on a college class, or Auditioning.  Tours of campus and the department are available.

    Everyone is invited to stay for our final dress rehearsal of The Fantasticks.

    Registration is no longer available.
